It all started at their conference centre, where teams jumped into hire cars and set off on their first wild task: track down a second vehicle hidden a few kilometres away. Think “find your wheels before the race can even begin” kind of chaos. The vibe? High energy, high stakes, and very low GPS accuracy.

From there, the teams navigated between scenic checkpoints across Queenstown and Arrowtown, tackling a series of team challenges, individual missions, and quirky roadblocks. Sometimes they helped each other, sometimes they went full throttle solo, but always with one goal in mind: win the race and the dinner challenge.

That’s right, each team had to gather specific items and ingredients along the way, ultimately contributing to a group dinner feast. Let’s just say… some teams nailed the brief. Others may have gotten a little too creative (and possibly too competitive). Rumour has it there was a post-race Maccas run for some “emergency carbs”, classic.
